DSA/ City Hall Occupied Protest
In 2020, as part of the national Black Lives Matter response to the murder of George Floyd, I joined the Memphis City Hall Occupied Protest to demand racial and economic justice. Collaborating with the Memphis chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), I helped organize resources, coordinated support for fellow protesters, and participated in peaceful demonstrations. This experience reinforced my commitment to grassroots activism, as I stood with the community in a powerful call for systemic change—ultimately resulting in my arrest for civil disobedience. Working alongside other dedicated organizers during this pivotal movement underscored the importance of solidarity in the ongoing fight for equity and social justice.
